Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) 2026
The MNI is updated annually. Your child must prove their income meets the threshold for their family size, including you as a visitor. The income threshold is based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) at 116%. Proof of income includes NOA (Notice of Assessment), T4 slips, employment letter with salary, or CPP/pension statements. Self-employed individuals can use line 15000 of their NOA.
