About the United Arab Emirates Visitor Visa
Indian passport holders need a tourist visa to visit the United Arab Emirates. Visas are issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) and major airlines (Emirates, Etihad) and Dubai-based agents.
Visas are 100% electronic — no embassy visit. Most popular options are 30-day single-entry, 60-day single-entry, and 30/60-day multi-entry, plus the 5-year multi-entry tourist visa for frequent travellers.
Indian nationals holding a valid US visa, UK/EU residency or GCC residency may also be eligible for visa-on-arrival in Dubai (subject to ICA rules — verify each trip).

30-Day Single Entry
Standard tourist visa — 30 days from entry, extendable once for 30 days.
60-Day Single Entry
Longer trip — 60 days from entry, extendable once for 30 days.
30/60-Day Multi-Entry
Multiple visits within validity (usually 60 days), each stay max 30 days.
5-Year Multi-Entry Tourist Visa
Long-validity visa — multiple visits over 5 years, max 90 days per stay (extendable to 180).
96-Hour Transit Visa
Free / low-cost visa for layovers via Emirates / Etihad.

Financial Requirements
UAE has no official threshold but plan for AED 3,000–5,000 (₹70k–1.2 lakh) for a 7-day Dubai trip. Profiles with strong financials enjoy near-100% approval.
Processing, Biometrics & Validity
30/60-day visas: 3–5 working days. Express service: 24 hours (premium fee). 5-year multi-entry: 5–7 working days.
Not required for the visa. Biometrics captured at Dubai/Abu Dhabi Smart Gate immigration on arrival.

Invitation Letter Rules
Sponsorship by a UAE resident family member is allowed — they upload Emirates ID / residence permit and (sometimes) a notarised invitation. Hotels and travel agencies routinely sponsor tourist visas.
Travel Insurance
MANDATORY effective recent ICA rules — comprehensive travel insurance valid in UAE covering the entire stay (medical & COVID treatment). Recommend ≥ AED 100,000.
