About the Visa

Built to keep families together

Italy's Ricongiungimento Familiare (Article 29 TUI) lets sponsors with valid permesso di soggiorno (1+ year) bring spouses, minor children and dependent relatives. The sponsor first applies for Nulla Osta from Sportello Unico, then the family applies for the visa.

Once issued, the family obtains a permesso di soggiorno per motivi familiari with full work rights from day one.

Eligibility

Who qualifies for Italy?

  • Sponsor holds permesso di soggiorno (work, EU Blue Card, study/research postgraduate, or carta di soggiorno)
  • Sponsor's annual income — at least €6,947.33 + €3,473.66 per family member (varies)
  • Suitable housing (idoneità alloggiativa certificate)
  • Marriage certificate apostilled and translated
