What a provincial nomination actually does
A provincial nomination is a province or territory telling Canada it wants you to settle there because your skills fit its economy. Almost every province except Quebec and Nunavut runs a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), with streams for skilled workers, graduates, in-demand occupations and sometimes entrepreneurs. It is one of the most reliable routes to permanent residence for Indian applicants.
The reason a nomination is so valuable is simple: through Express Entry, an enhanced nomination adds 600 points to your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which in practice guarantees an Invitation to Apply. Even a base nomination, processed outside Express Entry, gives you a direct route to apply to IRCC for PR.
