6-Step Pathway: Canada PR for Indian Pharmacists

A clear roadmap from your pharmacy degree in India to permanent residency and practice in Canada.

01

Assess Eligibility & Profile Evaluation

Confirm your NOC 31120 eligibility, calculate your estimated CRS score, and identify the strongest pathway — FSW, healthcare draw, or provincial nomination. Our RCIC (R506940) provides a detailed strategy session.

02

Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)

Have your B.Pharm or M.Pharm assessed by a designated organisation (WES, IQAS, or PEBC itself). The ECA confirms your degree is equivalent to a Canadian credential and is mandatory for Express Entry.

03

Language Testing — IELTS or CELPIP

Achieve CLB 9 or above across all four bands to maximise your CRS. For FSW the minimum is CLB 7, but each additional CLB band adds significant points. French language ability can add another 25–50 CRS points.

04

Create Express Entry Profile & Receive ITA

Submit your Express Entry profile with ECA, language results, and work experience documentation. Enter the pool and wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) — either from a healthcare category draw (CRS 430+) or a general draw.

05

Submit PR Application within 60 Days

After receiving your ITA, compile and submit a complete PR application including police clearances, medicals, and all supporting documents within the 60-day window. Our team manages your complete file.

06

PEBC Credential Recognition & Provincial Licensing

Begin the PEBC Evaluating Exam and OSCE process (ideally in parallel with your PR application). Once PR is granted and both PEBC exams are cleared, apply to the provincial pharmacy college in your chosen province to receive your licence to practise.

PEBC Credential Recognition Process for Indian Pharmacists

The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) is the national certification body. Both exams are required before you can register with any provincial pharmacy college.

Step 1 — Document Review

  • Submit transcripts, degree certificates, and internship records to PEBC
  • PEBC verifies that your B.Pharm / M.Pharm meets the standard for the Evaluating Exam
  • Timeline: 8–12 weeks for document assessment
  • Fee: approximately CAD 685 for document review

Step 2 — PEBC Evaluating Exam (MCQ)

  • Multiple-choice exam covering pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical sciences, and patient care
  • Offered twice a year — typically February and September
  • 3-hour exam with 200 questions
  • Pass rate for internationally educated pharmacists: ~55–65%

Step 3 — PEBC OSCE

  • Objective Structured Clinical Examination — 12 stations, 10 minutes each
  • Tests patient counselling, drug interaction identification, and clinical decision-making
  • Offered after passing the Evaluating Exam
  • Must be completed within 3 years of passing the Evaluating Exam

Step 4 — Provincial College Registration

  • Apply to your chosen provincial college after clearing both PEBC exams
  • Ontario (OCP), Alberta (ACP), BC (BCCP), Manitoba (MPC), etc.
  • May require an additional Jurisprudence exam specific to each province
  • Most registrations completed within 4–8 weeks of application
