Transferring Colleges as an International Student

International students already in Canada sometimes decide a different college suits them better — for the programme, the campus city, the fees or the career pathway. If you are transferring to a genuine new programme at a participating institution, the application fee waiver means those transfer applications cost you CAD 0. When Future Link submits your applications during the offer period, the institution application fee is waived on each — up to three institutions under one waiver.

With application fees typically CAD 100–250 each, three waived transfer applications can save roughly CAD 300–750. Future Link Consultants is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC licence R506940), and the campaign is a recruitment arrangement with 19 participating institutions across Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta. As an in-Canada applicant, your file runs through the Scarborough (Toronto) office.

Why Apply Early in the 2026 Cycle

Canada expects around 155,000 new-arrival study permits nationally in 2026, and Ontario's allocation is 104,780 applications — the largest of any province. While transfers within Canada differ from new arrivals, these finite allocations shape how busy the whole cycle gets. Applying early, well before the 30 September 2026 close, gives your transfer the best runway for offers and any permit or PAL steps that follow.

Your assessment does not change because you applied free — each college decides against its published academic and English requirements. The waiver simply removes the cost of applying, so you can put your best transfer applications forward to up to three participating colleges.

The waiver covers the institution application fee only, on up to 3 transfer applications. Tuition, tuition deposit, GIC, biometrics, the study-permit fee and any third-party charges are separate and payable as normal. Admission and permit outcomes are never guaranteed — confirm current transfer and permit requirements with your counsellor.
