What changed
IELTS in India is computer-delivered from September 2026
IDP announced that the paper-based IELTS would end in India after August 2026, with every test from September 2026 taken on a computer at a test centre. The test pattern, difficulty and scoring did not change: you still take Listening, Reading and Writing, and Speaking is still a face-to-face conversation with an examiner.
What does change is how it feels. You read passages on screen, type every answer, and write your essays with a keyboard. Students who have only practised on paper often lose time on the first attempt.
On-screen skills
What to practise for the computer-delivered test
- Typing your Writing tasks at speed — aim to finish Task 2 with time to check it.
- Using the word count instead of counting by hand, and staying above 150 and 250 words.
- Reading long passages on screen and moving between the text and the questions.
- Typing short Listening and Reading answers with correct spelling — misspelled answers lose the mark.
- Watching the on-screen timer and flagging questions to come back to.
How we help

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Has the IELTS format changed with the computer-delivered test?
No. The number of questions, timings, question types and scoring are the same as the paper test. Only the way you read and answer changes — on screen and by keyboard.
Is Speaking also on a computer?
No. In computer-delivered IELTS, Speaking is still a face-to-face conversation with a certified examiner. In our mock test you answer the Speaking prompts in writing.
Are these real IELTS exam questions?
No. Every question is original practice material written by Future Link Consultants to the current IELTS format, question types and length. Real and past IELTS questions belong to the IELTS partners and are confidential, so no honest provider can sell them. Our aim is that the real test feels familiar when you sit it.
How much does the full-length mock test cost?
Each full-length test — Academic or General Training — costs ₹999 + 18% GST (₹1,178.82) per attempt. You pay online by UPI, card, net banking or wallet through Razorpay, and the test unlocks immediately. The free practice test costs nothing.
About our questions: every question is original practice material written by Future Link Consultants to the current IELTS format and length.
